About Monomi
Every embroidery tells a story. Mine began long before I owned my first embroidery machine.
Monomi was born from a love for embroidery that has been passed down through generations.
My grandmother embroidered everything by hand. She didn’t have an embroidery machine, and sometimes she didn’t even use a hoop — just a needle, embroidery threads and her own hands. With patience, creativity and care, she created beautiful pieces one stitch at a time.
Today, I continue this tradition in a modern way. My embroidery machines have become my trusted helpers, allowing me to transform photographs, names, family memories and personal ideas into lasting embroidered keepsakes. The tools have changed, but the creativity, care and meaning behind every piece remain exactly the same.
The name Monomi reflects everything this brand stands for. “Mono” represents something individual, unique and created especially for one person, while “mi” represents something personal — me, mine and my story. Together, Monomi carries the idea of one moment, one stitch, one meaning: creating pieces that celebrate memories, tell stories and become treasured for years to come.
Every Monomi piece begins with a story. It may be a photograph transformed into thread, a child’s clothing preserved in a memory sweater, family heritage expressed through embroidery, or names and dates stitched onto a meaningful gift. Every design is carefully prepared, thoughtfully embroidered and created to become something truly personal.
Based in Brisbane, Australia, Monomi Custom Embroidery creates personalised embroidery for customers across Australia and New Zealand.
